GET INVOLVED

We believe that church is so much more than somewhere people visit each Sunday. We feel strongly that at the centre of church is community, and at the heart of community is service. Whatever you are passionate about, wherever your skill set lies, there are things that you can get involved with, which contribute to the life of Resound.

Whether it’s serving coffee, welcoming people, being in the worship team or helping to run a children’s group, helping with parenting courses, volunteering with the Foodbank, there’s plenty going on at Resound. If you are interested in getting involved in any area of church life email us at office@resoundbristol.co.uk.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES MINISTRY

Sunday Children’s Helper: Alongside another volunteer, to go out with the children between 11:00- 11:45 am during our Sunday morning service and assist in running a group for them. This could include playing games, reading stories, doing crafts and more. The most important part of this role is building relationships with the children and providing a safe environment where they can know that they are a valued and loved part of the church family.

Toddler group Helper: Be part of an enthusiastic team which helps to make our Thursday morning Toddler group run and provide a safe and friendly environment for children and adults. Toddler groups require volunteers in different roles which could include helping to set up, interacting with families or serving refreshments.

COMMUNITY MINISTRY

Small group Leader: Host and facilitate a fortnightly small group.

Alpha Helper: Participate in the Alpha sessions, help facilitate conversation through questions and insight and be a listening ear to those who take part in the course.

Foodbank Helper: Foodbank offers a wide range of roles for volunteers. Some take place in our front-facing team, including: Giving out food parcels, making tea and coffee for those visiting, spending time with clients and signposting to local services. There's also a lot that goes on behind the scenes, from sorting and weighing stock to picking up food donations, delivering food parcels to providing administrative support.

Soup Run Volunteer: The Soup Run operates every night of the year to provide food and support for those suffering from homelessness and poverty in Bristol. As part of this, a team from Resound go once a month to provide food, hot drinks, and clothes to those on the streets. Alongside practical provision, it’s an opportunity to be a listening ear and a friendly face to people who have found themselves alone and in desperate circumstances. Teams prepare food before going out each month on a Monday night.

FACILITIES MAINTAINANCE TEAM

Gardening: Be part of the team that maintains the flower beds and green space around our building.

DIY: Sometimes there are maintenance projects that require extra pairs of hands! As and when they come up, we would love to call on anyone who has the skills to help out.
