CHILDREN, FAMILIES + YOUTH

At Resound, we firmly believe that children and young people are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. They have as much to offer as anyone and have as much potential as anyone. We have a heart to support and nurture our young people.

We have a diverse youth and children’s provision at Resound. In the church itself, there are different groups for discipleship and exploration. We are also active in the local community, seeking to serve and bless young people whilst they’re in school or out on the streets. Part of our mission is to love our neighbour, and this includes the children and young people of our community.

  • During each Sunday morning service at Resound, we run groups for children. These give them a chance to enjoy themselves and explore ideas in a safe space.

Our young people stay in the service, but usually sit together in the back corner where they love to help keep an eye on any toddlers and listen to the talk together.

  • We currently run a midweek group for young people to hang out, relax and learn together. FLAME is for School years 11+ and runs on a Wednesday night at Resound from 6.30-8:00pm.

  • We would love for each of the young people connected with Resound to know that they have at least one adult outside of their family who wants to dedicate time to getting to know them and helping them navigate life. If you're Y7+ and interested in having a mentor get in touch with the office.

  • We are particularly involved with our local secondary schools. This includes providing 1-1 mentoring for students at a local secondary school, and running lunch clubs and assemblies in primary schools.

  • Resound Toddler Group meet weekly on Thursdays from 10.00-11.30am during term time. We are a well equipped, friendly group with lots of space to play.

  • Our detached work involves going out weekly into the community and speaking with young people, building relationships with them and supporting them wherever they are in life. Detached work is run in partnership with Creative Youth Network (CYN).

  • Emersons Green Youth Club runs on a Monday night with Creative Youth Network. This is for young people in school years 7-9 and is an informal space where youth can play sports and video games, get creative, or just chill out and enjoy some free snacks and good company.
