The foodbank at Resound opens every Friday morning, from 10am - 12pm.
A foodbank is a place where schools, churches, businesses and individuals donate non-perishable, in-date food, which is then distributed to people who need it in the community.
Volunteers sort food to check that it’s in date and pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need.
Care professionals such as doctors, health visitors, social workers, CAB and police identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher. Foodbank clients can bring their voucher to the Resound foodbank centre where it can be redeemed for three days emergency food. Resound volunteers meet with clients over a cup of tea or coffee and some snacks in the Resound cafe and are able to signpost people to agencies able to solve the longer-term problem.
