We believe that church is so much more than somewhere people visit each Sunday. We feel strongly that at the centre of church is community, and at the heart of community is service. Whatever you are passionate about, wherever your skill set lies, there are things that you can get involved with, which contribute to the life of Resound.

Sunday Teams


Welcoming: Greet and welcome people as the arrive, and say goodbye they leave. This is also the point person for information such as our Welcome Pack and event flyers in the foyer. You will need to arrive 30 minutes before the service starts.


Stewarding: This role has two key elements; set up and pack down for the service and acting as an usher to help people during the service.  Also includes jobs such as helping with the offering, car park

 Refreshments:  Preparing and serving teas and coffees for people at the start of the service. You will need to arrive 1 hour early, in order to serve from 30 minutes before the service starts. For evening services this role also includes providing cake!

Hospitality Link: This role acts as a link between the all the elements of our hospitality team, with a particular focus on newcomers; ensuring they are looked after and sitting with them or getting them a drink if this feels appropriate.


Musician: If you can sing or play an instrument and have a heart for worship, you might like to consider joining the worship team. Band Practices run on Wednesday evenings.

PA: Running the sound desk for a Sunday service. Training provided.

AV: Running the song words and any other projected videos and images for a Sunday service. Training Provided.


Youth Helper: Alongside another volunteer, to go out with the youth between 11:00- 11:45am during our Sunday morning service and assist in running a group for them. This could include playing games, Bible study, prayer and more. The most important part of this role is building relationship with the young people.

Children's Helper: Alongside another volunteer, to go out with the children between 11:00- 11:45am during our Sunday morning service and assist in running a group for them. This could include playing games, reading stories, doing craft and more. The most important part of this role is building relationship with the children, and providing a safe environment where they can know that they are a valued and loved part of the church family.

Funday Sunday Helper: Every 2nd Sunday, 11:00am-12:30pm we run Funday Sunday; a time for families with primary aged children to enjoy together, including free brunch, art and crafts, games to play and more. Be part of the team that make it happen!

Midweek Teams



Foodbank offers a wide range of roles for volunteers. Some take place in our front facing team, including: Giving out food parcels, making tea and coffees for those visiting, spending time with clients and signposting to local services. There's also lots that goes on behind the scenes, from sorting and weighing stock to picking up food donations, delivering food parcels to providing administrative support. The Soup Run operates every night of the year to provide food and support for those suffering from homelessness and poverty in Bristol. As part of this, a team from Resound go once a month to provide food, hot drinks, and clothes to those on the streets. Alongside practical provision, it’s an opportunity to be a listening ear and a friendly face, to people who have found themselves alone and in desperate circumstances. Teams prepare food before going out each month on a Monday night.


Refreshments: Assist the building manager in providing refreshments for corporate clients​ by preparing and serving teas and coffees, and then collecting and washing up crockery, and cleaning tables. 

Technical Facilitator: Assist the building manager in providing audio, video, IT and technical assistance for the smooth running of events for corporate clients


Parent Course Helper: At Resound we run several different parenting courses throughout the year 

Parent Buddy: Parenting is full of highs and lows. Having someone to share these with can make all the difference. Being a buddy, means offering short term, informal, one-on-one support to a parent, grandparent or carer who needs a listening ear and wants to talk through a particular parenting issue. Toddler group Helper: Be part of an enthusiastic team who help to make our Thursday morning Toddler group run and provide a safe and friendly environment for children and adults.


Cooking and Refreshments Team: Be on a rota to cook a meal and provide teas and coffees for the Alpha Course- Tuesday evenings 7-9PM.

Small Group Helper: Participate in the Alpha sessions, help facilitate conversation through questions and insight and be a listening ear to those who take part in the course.


Gardening: Be part of the team that maintains the flower beds and green space around our building.

DIY: Sometimes there are maintenance projects that require extra pairs of hands! As and when they come up, our building manager, Bob, would love to call on anyone who has the skills to help out.


Small Group Leader: Host and facilitate a fortnightly small group.
